This does not happen in the case of 1.3 MJD produced by fiat till now. This is mainly because of the numbers of DDIS engines manufactured against the number of MJD manufactured. With linea being launched and Fiat planning to export 1.3 MJD engines from India, the future fiat cars with 1.3 MJD will be silent.
History. Fiat introduced the 1.3 MJD engine in 2003. It was awarded the ‘International Engine of the Year in 2005. Fiat claims to have manufactured 8,00,050 units of the engine till now. FCA had no plan to upgrade this one to a BA6-compliant one. Therefore, it decided to cease the production and discontinue the engine.
Both these units can also be had with a hi-tech 9-speed auto gearbox you can also have on the top 140bhp 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel version, another 500X variant available with 4WD. Further down the diesel range, there are 1.3 and 1.6-litre MultiJet units, respectively offering 95 and 120bhp.
It will only help if the stock intercooler is significantly suffering from heat soak. This is only really a factor once the outlet temp of the intercooler goes above 70 degrees C. The engine of the 500 is generally considerably noisier then when I first received it. The bassy noise seems to be at its worst at about 1800 to 2000 revs. If you rev the car to about 3000 revs and then let your foot of the throttle there is a lot of vibration of the car at about 1800 to 2000 revs, (if you have your foot on the floor of the car
The Multijet engine gives 75bhp at 4000 revs which translates to a torque of 140lb/ft at a rev count of 1750rpm. The Fiat Doblo also provides a fuel consumption of around 50mpg. For a 1.3-litre, the Fiat Doblo feels faster to drive on many levels & its 10.5m turning circle makes it great for negotiating busy city streets.
That said, when it comes to out-and-out pace, we’d definitely recommend the 94bhp 1.3 Multijet 2 95 over the entry-level 79bhp version. It has that bit of the extra oomph you need, especially if
Tata Motors : 2 Cars. Maruti Suzuki : 8 Cars. Premier : 1 Car. Chevrolet : 4 Cars. Fiat : 6 Cars. Swift siblings are the largest selling Multijet cars in India. These are broadly the tunes/forms in which this engine is used in India. One which produces 75 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque – mostly used in B segment hatchbacks.
In the 2019 Fiat 500X, the 1.3T replaces the old 2.4-liter and the 1.4-liter turbo-four. With 177 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque, it has nearly the same output as the 2.4-liter but gobs more twist
